Gotta Fly

Tuesday, November 6th, 2007
My best friend is pregnant and her doctor put her on full bed rest today. She has an 18 mo. old daughter who needs more attention than a resting Mommy can give, so Auntie Sara is on her way.

I won’t have a chance to post but I’ll be checking in on your sites. Please do all you can to keep my old, tired ass amused, won’t you?

Anger Management

Friday, October 26th, 2007

Sometimes when you are angry with someone, it helps to sit down and think about the problem. I wish I could confront my content thief and utilize this strategy.

**UPDATE**
Mike sent some great advise that I think you all should read, apparently it isn’t whether or not your content will be stolen, it’s a question of when it will be stolen. For help on how to protect yourself see HERE. Thanks Mike!I’m going to take off for the weekend, I’ll let you know what happens with all this on Tuesday.

It IS Patriotic to Demonstrate, Dammit!

Tuesday, September 18th, 2007
This young woman makes me proud to be an American. Her post about the march on Washington is a captivating read.

Young people, be prepared to lose the internet as you know it. I’m serious. When I was young we ate Vietnam for dinner, ask your parents. We watched protesters fight for civil rights and to stop a war we knew was wrong, every broadcast. The news wasn’t owned by PepsiCo, the reporters didn’t have fake boobs, and they told you what was going on in the world – not in peoples’ bedrooms. People can’t watch the truth about war at let it go on, not for long.

You see what they’ve done to “the news”, they’ll do that do the internet soon. They’ll stop regular people from speaking their minds and raging against the machine. They’ll not let you post your protest video on YouTube.

But until then, keep writing about your experiences on the front line of the protest and of the war. Keep posting those videos and pictures of what’s really going on and for the love of all this country once stood for, keep speaking out!

Fred's Position

Sunday, September 9th, 2007

Just in case you’re considering Fred Thompson for president, you might want to take a look at his position on a couple of things:

On President Bush: “I think that we are finally on the right track in Iraq now, and we’re making progress. President Bush has done a good job in terms of domestic economics. I give him credit for the Supreme Court nominations he’s made.” He did criticize the president for overspending.

On the war: “The American people don’t want to lose, and when the American people are convinced that this is part of a global war you see some very high numbers of people saying, ‘Yeah we’ve gotta stay there and do what’s necessary to prevail.’ You’re already seeing a change in perception as better news comes out of Iraq.”

You can read the entire article HERE. And then you can puke.

I Re-Learned Something Today …

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007

I hadn’t lived with a (non-human) pet for ten years until about four months ago. In that ten years I had forgotten that you never, EVER, pick up anything that you’re not quite sure what it is.

Closing Out the Week

Friday, April 13th, 2007

I know, I’m a little early closing out the week but(t) fuck it. I’ve got sun to lay in, crossword puzzles to complete, a Native American money pit to visit, and lots of waiting for HR to call.

- The interview felt like it went well … to me. As of this post, HR hasn’t called to coordinate a flight.

- My sister-in-law and I are heading to Thunder Valley tonight. I hope the “resort” is operated more efficiently than their web site.

- If you have an interest in free speech, (and really who doesn’t?), please take a few minutes to read THIS and show Cat Coble a little innernet love.
